Providence, Part 4

Long story short, with complications and set backs, I took the adult cardiac step down position at Oakwood Main. I will start there on September 17. I will only have 4-5 patients, not 14. I will work 8p-8a three days a week, not 5. Interpreters will be available. And there's a better guarantee that my patients will be alert and oriented. But I was also told that I could have 4 patients, discharge 3 home, and admit 1 in one shift. God help me! I am not at that level yet. But that's what orientation and training is for. I chose this unit for the variety of things I can learn while there. I will soon be able to add to my nursing repertoire more than short Arabic phrases related to wanting medication or someone to walk with.
Oh, and the mission trip this month was cancelled, which worked out since that was planned for the 19th and I start work on the 17th. Although I Really want to go on a trip, God knows what He's doing.
